About the Role

As Technical SEO Consultant, you’ll be a dab hand at using SEO to achieve sustainable visibility and growth on search engines and will be accountable for the technical integrity of clients’ websites and digital properties.

Whilst all things Technical are your thing, you will also be proficient in providing non-technical clients and stakeholders with clear, concise and jargon-free recommendations.

Reporting to the Head of SEO, your role as Technical SEO Consultant is to oversee the analysis and execution of technical recommendations across a portfolio of assigned clients.

Identifying potential risks and implementing solutions to prevent any negative impact on performance will be a key duty, alongside technical best practice recommendations. Day to day the role will undertake website audits, keyword research and backlink analysis. You will be required to deliver reports and other insight using a suite of industry-leading software and tools.

A day in the life of a Technical SEO Consultant looks a little bit like this…

  • Perform in-depth on-site, technical and backlink profile reviews to identify new opportunities and understand potential risks and assist in incorporating this analysis into client strategies.
  • Take ownership of each client’s organic performance owing to technical abilities and limitations.
  • Oversee the implementation of technical SEO recommendations, and work alongside the relevant client stakeholders and third-party developers were required.
  • Provide updates and analysis on technical implemented recommendations and contribute to client reporting needs.
  • Produce bespoke client reports in multiple formats and be an advanced user of a suite of SEO-specific tools, such as analytics, crawlers, and link check tools including Screaming Frog, GSC, AHREF, Search Metrics, STAT, and Google Data Studio.
  • Lead larger technical initiatives, such as website migrations, from project start to completion.
  • Participate in technical data gathering to assist with new business pitches and proposals, as required.
  • Attend and lead regular client calls and meetings.
  • Monitor performance of strategies and identify areas of improvement.
  • Stay up to date with the latest search news and trends and communicate this as necessary with colleagues and clients.
  • Participate in technical data gathering to assist with new business pitches and proposals, as required.
  • Always communicate effectively and collaboratively with Account Managers and colleagues across the business to ensure campaigns run smoothly.
