We’re recruiting a Front-end Developer with experience in PHP to work as a part of our content and design team. Building engaging interactive digital content pieces, you’ll help us to do what we do best, using content to make waves for our clients online.

As an award-winning digital agency, we work with a big range of companies across a huge range of sectors meaning that variety and innovation are at the heart of everything we do and will be a key part of this role.

Every week, the Evolved Search team create content on behalf of our clients which is posted across the web by well-known publishers and seen and shared by huge audiences across the globe.

As an in-house developer at Evolved, you’ll be working to bring content ideas to life for online audiences by building shareable, innovative front-end applications which deliver content across a range of devices.

A day in the life of a Junior Front-end Developer at Evolved Search looks a little like this:

• Working to deliver high quality mobile first web applications which are cross browser compatible and deliver a high-quality experience on a variety of devices
• Writing clean, scalable code with an eye on performance and security
• Working with back end frameworks and technologies to handle amongst others interactive and data gather functions
• Working in a stand-alone function but as part of an experienced team in other creative roles
• Collaborating with and directing external developers who are providing support on projects
• Testing code and functionality with the team to ensure quality and performance
• Deploying your work on client platforms working with their in-house or 3rd party developers
• Working on development tasks for Evolved Search as an agency and other internal projects where required.
• Working with the content and design teams to scope and plan ideas
• Looking at project feasibility with an eye on balancing innovation and constraints on time and resources

This is a completely new role at Evolved Search, enabling the successful candidate to completely make it their own. We’re after someone who can hit the ground running and make an impact quickly.

Required skills/experience:

• Confident front-end skills using HTML, CSS & JavaScript
• A background in creating responsive designs
• Knowledge of PHP and integrating it with front end applications
• You should be able to demonstrate complete projects using these technologies
• Using git for version control with external contractors
• The ability to learn new techniques and apply them to your work
• The drive to use your skills to be a pioneer in creating new solutions industry leading original content

Desirable skills/experience:

• Knowledge of common CMS technology like WordPress, Drupal Umbraco etc. would be an advantage
• Skills around animation with JavaScript and HTML5
• Knowledge of popular JS frameworks like Angular 2, React.JS, Ember.JS etc.
• The ability to build web solutions with or without frameworks like Bootstrap
• 1 or 2 years commercial experience as a developer would be desirable but not essential for someone who can demonstrate the right background/knowledge
