Role Description:

Does the quality of your design work speak for itself? If so, we want to talk to you!

We’re looking for a talented graphic design professional to join our growing digital Content Marketing team at Evolved Search.

Collaborating with a range of creatives in other connected roles, you’ll be an important part of a national award-winning team helping to create digital assets for our clients. This role is tailor-made for someone who is a team player and has the skills and drive to consistently produce designs that look at home online in front of large national and international audiences.

Our content pieces are intended to make waves and our work is regularly shared at large by some of the world’s biggest online publishers.

No two days will be the same, and the position will provide opportunities to work on design projects across a wide range of digital formats and industries which are both bespoke and unique.

Some examples of these formats include:

– Standalone graphics
– Interactive digital assets
– Designs for online apps/tools and interfaces
– Micro-sites and interactive game and quiz visuals

We see our designers as an important part of our wider creative process. As such, in this role you’ll have the chance to contribute towards project ideas/brainstorms and be a “go to” person in the team for exploring and advising on the possibilities and viability for creative content approaches.

Responsibilities:

A day in the life of a content designer at Evolved Search looks a little like this:

  • Creating designs as part of content marketing projects
  • Participating in brainstorming content ideas as part of a wider creative team.
  • Researching and scoping design approaches against factors of quality, time and budget
  • Working with members of the content team and developers to shape research into a suitable design idea
  • Providing and sharing knowledge on new design techniques and innovations within the creative process
  • Considering usability as part of any of the design production process
  • Ensuring that the final product meets the requirement of the client and the brief
  • Working with the wider team where required to make improvements and changes to content
  • Working effectively to produce work within the require timescales
  • Co-ordinating with freelancers and other internal designers with specific skill sets on their input
  • Looking at project feasibility with an eye on balancing innovation with constraints on time and resources

What we're looking for:

This is a crucial and exciting new role as we expand our Content Marketing team, so we’re hoping to bring someone into the team who can make an impact quickly.

We’re seeking someone with:

  • Raw design talent! In a nutshell, just having that wow factor in the work you produce
  • A strong portfolio showing this quality and demonstrating diversity in the design techniques and styles you use day to day is a must
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile to deliver the best results
In depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Demonstrate knowledge around designing digital projects which accommodate the technical requirements required for rolling out designs on the web and across a range of devices
  • Being a creative all-rounder with an interest in the overall process of researching and producing quality content
  • An eye for detail, being able to highlight and action amends where changes are required
  • An ability to communicate well with colleagues
  • A passion for design and sharing and using new techniques with colleagues and in your work
  • Basic knowledge of CSS and HTML and an interest in UX would also be welcomed.

What you'll get:

Skills like yours come at a price, we get it. In addition to a competitive salary, you’ll also enjoy:

  • A fantastic working environment with a brilliant team.
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays – that’s more than your average!
  • Regular social activities and events, plus a Christmas party in AMSTERDAM. Yep, you read that right.
  • Great offices in Newcastle’s creative hub, The Toffee Factory, with a fun, relaxed culture.
  • Access to our Company perks and benefits platform.
