About the Role

Collaborating with a range of creatives in other connected roles, you’ll be an important part of a national award-winning team helping to create innovative digital assets for our clients.

This role is tailor-made for someone who is a team player and has the skills and determination to consistently produce designs that look at home online in front of large national and international audiences.

Our content pieces are intended to make waves and our work is regularly shared at large by some of the world’s biggest online publishers, including The New York Post, The Daily Mail, Metro, The Mirror, Refinery29 and many, many others.

No two days will be the same, and the position will provide opportunities to work on design projects across a wide range of digital formats and industries which are both bespoke and unique.

Some examples of these formats include:

  • Standalone graphics
  • Interactive digital assets
  • Designs for online apps/tools and interfaces
  • Micro-sites and interactive game and quiz visuals

We see our designers as an important part of our wider creative process.  As such, in this role, you’ll have the chance to contribute towards project ideas and brainstorm sessions and be a go-to person in the team for exploring and advising on the possibilities and viability for creative content approaches.

Duties & Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Digital Graphic Designer at Evolved Search looks a little like this:

  • Creating designs as part of content marketing projects.
  • Participating in brainstorming content ideas as part of a wider creative team.
  • Researching and scoping design approaches against factors of quality, time and budget.
  • Working with members of the content team and developers to shape research into a suitable design idea.
  • Providing and sharing knowledge of new design techniques and innovations within the creative process.
  • Considering usability as part of any of the design production process
  • Ensuring that the final product meets the requirement of the client and the brief.
  • Working with the wider team where required, to make improvements and changes to content.
  • Working effectively to produce work within the required timescales.
  • Coordinating with freelancers and other internal designers with specific skill-sets on their input.
  • Looking at project feasibility with an eye on balancing innovation with constraints on time and resource.

It’s a diverse, rewarding and exciting role with the opportunity to progress and make it your own.

What we're looking for

This is a crucial and exciting new role as we expand our in-house Design team, so we’re hoping to bring someone into the team who can make an impact quickly.

We’re seeking someone with:

  • Raw design talent! In a nutshell, just having that wow factor in the work you produce. If you can share examples of previous work, we’d love to see it!
  • A strong portfolio showing this quality and demonstrating diversity in the design techniques and styles you use day-to-day is a must.
  • 2 – 3 years of industry experience (agency work is a preference).
  • In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. In particular, Photoshop, Illustrator and XD.
  • Strong appreciation of typography, colour and the effective use of space.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, being able to switch from one project to another if the need arises.
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile to deliver the best results.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of designing responsive digital projects that accommodate a variety of devices and technical limitations.
  • A creative all-rounder with an interest in the overall process of researching and producing quality content.
  • An eye for detail, being able to highlight and action amends where changes are required.
  • An ability to communicate well with colleagues and work effectively within a team.
  • A passion for design and sharing new techniques with colleagues and in your own work.
  • Basic knowledge of CSS and HTML and an interest in UX and prototyping would also be welcomed.

What you'll get from us

Skills and experience like yours come at a price, we get it. In addition to a fair and competitive salary (DOE), we also offer our team members:
